  At the Memorial......

  i did make it to the memorial with my wife this past sunday.

  at first everything was going the same as always...the talk, the passing of the crackers and wine, but then towards the end the brother giving the speech did something i had never seen.

  he was talking about how we could never pay a price for what christ has given for us...he then pulled a big wad of cash with what was clearly either a 20 or 50 on the front and flashed it to everyone in the audience.

I almost laughed out loud. I did say "Oh God that was fake" loud enough for my wife and the others on my row to hear me. It was bizarre...Anyone else see or experience anything weird like that in a memorial?? In this one or in previous ones??

  when you all were just getting out, how did you handle the unexpected visits?

  I hate those visits. I just sit there and make small talk as nice as possible while avoiding the big subjects. A family member came by the other night and began counseling me while talking to my daughter (she is only 4 mos old). She kept telling her how important it was to go to the meetings and study...c'mon. Even my wife didnt like it. Needless to say they left shortly afterwards, we weren't very amicable after that.

  I've always had doubts, in some way shape or form, but I think what got me to investigate everything was the pedophile issue. I got silentlambs.org and could not believe what I learned there. That convinced me that this is not the truth.

  i always thought that was the ludicrous idea ever!! How humble could they be when they were suggesting to their members to do that?? Its just disgusting.

  do any of you ever have this problem.

  people find out that you used to have an affiliation with the jw organization and they think that you should be able to answer all of their questions.

  both biblical and what they feel the organization is doing wrong.

  It may be a little different but I've encountered people who just dont understand the policies and rules of the jw org. They are blown away when I tell them how strict things are and also about the dfing policy. Thats what Ive encountered at work to those few who I have told.

  I so know what you mean...My wife and I have been inactive for about a month but still she is skeptical to what I show her. Keep on there, its very fulfilling to see the real truth about this org. I have hope that both our spouses will join us soon. Hang in there, and thanks for sharing your great story!
